International Day of the Eradication of Poverty is October 17th. Today is recognize and appreciate efforts for the alleviation of poverty within our communities and countries at large. Several poverty eradication programs has benefitted women in particular. This is due to the fact that they are on the lowest level of most societal class especially in the developing world where they are burdened with numerous responsibilities that are not income generating. This day Mother Teresa received a Noble Peace Award in recognition of her role in saying no to war.
